Visiting the Oldest Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland

Dublin has some wonderful cathedrals. St.Patrick’s is one of the most popular but it’s not the oldest. That prize goes to Christ Church Cathedral, which is actually only a short walk from St. Patrick’s.

Not only is it one of Ireland’s oldest buildings, Christ Church is also home to some amazing artifacts. Its exhibits include extremely old and rare books, gold items and other pieces of history.

This Cathedral was the first place Handel’s Messiah was ever performed and choral performances are to this day part of the cathedral’s schedule of events. If you’re in Dublin, you really should visit this fantastic, historic site.

Here is a great post on another Dublin tourist attraction and information on dublin.
